Include Brand Name in Squidoo Titles?

I ran across a lens today that I thought could have been
titled in a way that would have resulted in a lot more
hits from Google.

I’m not going to share the lens, because I don’t want
to appear to criticize anyone, but I think we should talk about
it:

So, the lens in question had the Brand Name and then
the Product Name in the title. It looked like this

Brand Name’s Product Name Related Keyword.

To make that a little more clear, let’s talk about one
of my lenses.

I have one titled

Monsuno Monsters Toys

So, why didn’t I title it

Jaaks Pacific’s Monsuno Monsters Toys

??
I could have included the brand name in the title – for
example, on one of my lenses I did -

I included the brand name Zuru in it.

the title for that lens is

Shnooks – Buy Zuru Stuffed Shnook Toy

I’ll tell you why sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t.

It’s because, when I am deciding to make the lens, I pay
attention to whatever gave me the idea – in both of these
cases it was a commercial.

So, as I am watching the commercial I pay very close
attention to what the commercial makes me want to search
for! and that is the title of my lens.

So I think to myself “Ok, I just saw this commercial,
and now I am going to buy this product, and what
does the commercial make me want to search for?

And that is what I title my lens.

(Most of the time, the brand name should not be in the title – but sometimes it should be)

No matter what you are looking at – a magazine title,
the news, a catalogue, the words you read or hear
or the picture you see is going to put a phrase
in your brain …

… and if the phrase in your brain is the same
phrase as lots of other people who read the same thing,
well then you are onto something!

Keep making lenses!
