This is mostly for me, fleshing out what I am thinking after viewing the Module about primary linking for a new website.
So, for my TTT site, press release at webwire with an angle about the newness of the site or the family travel aspect of the site.
Article marketing is good for getting the linking off the ground, but I would totally do the one article to one top directory kind.
I love, love, love the idea of contacting sites that are posting your articles and offering unique conent for links.
I was trying to apply to my older website that I think is kind of languishing when it comes to gaining links, and I don’t think it applies so much. I think the next module will be much more enlightening when it comes to my older sites.
However, I wonder if a giveaway of some sort – maybe like a gift certificate to an activity or a free nights hotel stay would be something that I would 1) be able to attract some links from and 2) be something I could write a Press release about. Would this be valuable? Yes, probably. I should contact the company that wanted me to come on their boat and see if they would do a free giveaway.
Would I need to hire a company to do the sweepstakes or giveaway for me? Yes, probably.
